You can see that there is a need for pet care providers.  Pet sitters care for animals when the owner is away.  Clients need reliable people who can come into the home and secure the client’s home and property and care for all animals in the home in a professional manner.

We service Baldwin Hills, Beverly Hills, Beverlywood, Century City, Cheviot Hills, Culver City, Inglewood, Ladera Heights, Mar Vista, Westchester, West Los Angeles, Windsor Hills, and View Park.

Read the following before applying:

  • Do you live within 10 miles of the cities stated above?   If not sure, look it up.
  • Do you have your own transportation and insurance?
  • Do you have a cell phone?
  • Do you have access to the Internet?
  • Do you have some experience with handling and caring for pets including dogs, cats, rabbits and/or other small animals? We primarily work with dogs.

  • Do you know the difference between an independent contractor and an employee? If not sure, please look it up.
  • Can you make a commitment to working with pets?

We only hire independent contractors , thus no taxes are withheld and no benefits are available.  As an independent contractor you are a business owner and you would be responsible for your own expenses.  You will receive a 1099 form for your taxes. (See the IRS website for more info on independent contractors.)

  • As a professional you’ll want to learn as much as you can about your business.
  • You would be required to take a pet first aid and CPR class.  You pay for the class.
  • You would be required to sign up with National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, or Pet Sitters International or another membership to a professional pet sitting or training organization. You pay for the membership.  This membership is a valuable resource for people just starting out in the pet care business as well as for long-timers. Periodically you’ll get a magazine or email information from the association you’ve joined and we recommend that you read it cover to cover. The organization provides you with information on how to run to a business, articles on how to care for different kinds of pets, and information on how to keep yourself safe and to limit your liability. You would not have to be an association member at the time of your interview with us but by the time you come to work with us you should be signed up to take the Pet First Aid and CPR class.

We only have part-time work available.  We want you to keep busy but can’t guarantee you a set amount that you will earn.

We are offering work for:

Group Dog Walkers

  • We do dog walks for groups of small dogs weighing less than 20 pounds and groups of dogs weighing no more than 20 pounds.
  • We provide 30, 45 and 60 minute dog walks. These walks are at set times usually Monday through Friday.
  • You can walk as many as 5 dogs in a pack but you can walk fewer if you are more comfortable with a smaller number of dogs.
  • At this time we need independent contractors who are available each day Monday through Friday from 11 am to 3 pm.
  • Your rate is 50% of the fee.

Pet Sitters

  • As a pet sitter you would provide care for all the animals in the home.
  • Typically service is 2 to 3 visits per day for dogs and 1 to 2 visits per day for cats. Thus it would be a morning or mid-day and or evening visit for several days in a row.
  • Your rate is 50% of the fee.

Private Dog Walkers

  • We provide 30, 45 and 60 minute private dog walks.
  • You’ll need to walk all the dogs from the same family.
  • We offer this service 7 days a week at various times in the day.
  • Your rate is 50% of the fee.

Overnight Pet Care Providers

  • This is 12 hours of pet care service from and in the client’s home.
  • Your time can be from 8 pm to 7 am, but your start time may vary depending on the clients’ needs.
  • You would need to do two 15 minute walks for the dogs, one in the evening and one in the morning.
  • You would need to provide TLC to our clients’ pets by feeding, changing the water, administering medication as needed, watering plants, scooping up litter, cleaning up the poop in the back yard and doing light housecleaning.
  • You would need to learn the client’s alarm system.
  • You would need to meet the client and the pets at the client’s convenience.
  • You would not be permitted to bring another pet, child, or friend to a client’s home.
  • You would not be paid for your time for the Meet ‘n Greet. But you’ll be paid 50% of the overnight pet care fee.
